The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge, the world's longest manmade sea crossing, completed major work of construction on Dec. 31, 2017 as scheduled.

It took six years preparation, and eight years to build the 55-kilometer-long bridge linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.

Major work on the bridge consisted of a 22.9-kilometer-long main bridge, a 6.7-kilometer-long tunnel and an artificial island off the bridge, which is considered the most technically demanding part of the whole construction. 

Qichuang, as a major LED products supplier for the project, is excited to have witnessed its lighting project completion as one of The Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

The bridge will put the three cities of Zhuhai, Macau, and Hong Kong within an hour’s commute of each other.  It is the most urgent one and bears significant political and economic implications. As a leading manufacturer of LED applications, Qichuang has been selected to as a manufacturer and supplier of  the whole line LED products for the single construction,  and LED variable message signs equipped with own-developed intelligent control systems for the entire length of the bridge. 

Although the 50km long bridge brings challenges to LED technologies that we are confronted with environmental hazards including salt fog corrosion, vibrations, significant temperature drops, and severe weather including typhoons, Qichuang has overcame the harsh construction environment by employing intelligent control systems, reflection-illumination technology and cellular convection cooling technology that has gained national level LED standards.
